Riverdale Man Dies after Pickup Truck Overturns on South Elm Avenue in Caruthers

 
CARUTHERS, CA (September 28, 2019) – A man was killed following a rollover crash early Saturday morning in Caruthers, authorities said.
 
The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. on South Elm Avenue near Kamm Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 28-year-old Jesus Delgado Rodriguez of Riverdale was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado southbound when for unknown reasons, he allowed his vehicle to drift off the roadway.
 
The pickup truck overturned into a jalapeño pepper field, ejecting the driver. Paramedics pronounced Rodriquez dead at the scene.
 
Officers found beer cans inside the vehicle and suspect alcohol may have been a factor.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
