61-Year-Old Ridgecrest Woman Dies in 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 14
Bakersfield, CA (February 23, 2024) On Wednesday morning, 63-year-old Jesus Medina of Ridgecrest was hurt and a 61-year-old Ridgecrest woman died in a horrific crash on Highway 14.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the tragic incident happened at about 11 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 14 and 58 West off-ramp.
Reports say that a northbound vehicle, driven by the Ridgecrest woman collided with a westbound vehicle occupied by the driver, 80-year-old Brenda Carlson, and her passenger, Edwin Carlson, both from Angwin.
Officials say that the female driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while her passenger Medina was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital for minor injuries. Both Carlson’s escaped injuries.
Authorities are investigating the fatal collision and have not released further details at this time.
