66-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash near Searchlight Avenue
STOCKTON, CA (March 10, 2018) – A man succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday and police are looking for the suspect.
At around 7:25 PM on Sunday, Jesus Madrid, also known as “Chuey,” was hit while crossing the intersection of East Main Street and Searchlight Avenue. According to his family, he was battling homelessness and drug addiction and was living near the area where he was hit. Accounts related to the incident stated that the person who hit Madrid did not stop to help him after the crash.
Madrid was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Surveillance footage in the area helped police identify the possible vehicle involved, which could either be a white Chevrolet Trailblazer, an S-10 Blazer, or an Oldsmobile Bravada. They are urging anyone with more information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
