Jesus Caballero Killed in Pedestrian Crash on 17 Freeway [PHOENIX, AZ]

56-Year-Old Jesus Caballero Hit and Killed by Semi Truck on 17 Freeway in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (December 27, 2019) – A pedestrian who died in a crash Friday night on 17 Freeway has been identified as Jesus Caballero, 56, of Phoenix.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Camelback Road.
 
Officials said Caballero was struck by a Fry’s Food Store semi truck. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
The northbound lanes of 17 Freeway were closed for more than an hour while crews cleared the wreckage.
 
Police are still investigating the cause of this accident and more information will be provided when accessible.
