Covina 3-Vehicle Collision Kills San Dimas Man

Covina, CA (November 29, 2023) – 39-year-old Jessica Ottaviano of Pomona sustained major injuries following an Arrow Highway fatal crash Monday evening.

The fatal 3-vehicle collision occurred at 9:27 near Barranca Avenue. 

A 60-year-old San Dimas man driving a westbound 2001 Audi A4 on Arrow Highway lost control and traveled into the eastbound lanes. The Audi then struck two oncoming vehicles, a Hyundai Accent and a Mazda 3.

As a result, the San Dimas man was thrown from his vehicle and was declared deceased at the scene.

The 2012 Hyundai driver, Jessica Ottaviano, was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital with major injuries. 

Similarly, Mazda occupants, Estephanie Padilla, 32, and a 14-year-old girl, both El Monte residents, sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment. 

Investigators said alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the collision.

Moreover, witnesses said the vehicles were racing just before the accident happened, but CHP has not yet confirmed this information.
