Jesse Wilhite Killed in Horrific Single-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 36 [Caldwell, TX]

1 Dead in Caldwell Auto Accident on State Highway 36 near Country Road 315

CALDWELL, TX (March 11, 2024) – Saturday morning, Jesse Wilhite died in a horrific single-vehicle crash on State Highway 36 near County Road 315.

The crash involving one vehicle happened at about 6:17 a.m. when a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 failed to maintain a single lane. Then, the vehicle veered off the road, went into a ditch, and ejected all five occupants.

After the crash, the 18-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, Wilhite, from McDade, was declared dead at the scene by Burleson County Justice of the Peace Johnny Towslee.

Meanwhile, passengers Lane Magnuson, 19, of Lexington, and a 17-year-old female from Lexington, suffered suspected serious injuries and were taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital.

Then, Trevor King, 18, of Lexington, was flown to Herman Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Meanwhile, Rayna Buck, 19, of Lexington, was also flown to Scott and White Hospital – Temple.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
