35-Year-Old Big Bend Man Dies after Pickup Truck Overturns on Icy Roadway in Montgomery Creek
MONTGOMERY CREEK, CA (December 17, 2019) – A man was killed in a rollover crash Tuesday morning on a rural mountain road in Montgomery Creek, authorities said.
The crash happened around 8:05 a.m. on Big Bend Road near Highway 299.
According to the CHP, a gray Toyota Tundra was heading southbound on the twisting icy road when it went off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected to the left and went into a slide. The truck’s right front fender collided with a cedar tree and overturned.
As a result, the driver was ejected and died at the scene. Authorities identified him as Jesse Shane Baugher, 35, of Montgomery Creek.
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
