He was driving to work when the accident happened. He turned off Lacey Avenue to Highway 41 heading north.
And the next thing Day knew, his vehicle went flying.
“According to witnesses a driver came up at approximate speeds of about a 100 miles per hour and hit him from behind and he spun and flipped over ended up rolling into a nearby cotton field.”
He called his girlfriend, Megan walker, was the first thing he did.
Meanwhile, a witness of the incident helped him called the police and paramedics.
“And I left immediately and arrived on the scene with the ambulance and police department,” said Walker.

The Pain of Crash Injureies
Furthermore, Walker said Day needed more than 200 stitches and 21 staples to close the huge cut on his head.
“The laceration across his head started near his eyebrow and went across his forehead and went to the other side. You used the word scalped and as gory and horrific as that sounds -that’s the term I keep hearing over and over again.”
Additionally. as for the driver of the other car, a witness said he checked the driver to see if she was okay and then went back to Day .
“When he looked up there was another car pulling up and she left the scene,” said Walker.
Walker hopes that the suspect driver is eventually found.
“I can’t imagine. She must have been scared but to know that you hurt somebody that bad and to just leave them there. I can’t fathom that yet.”
As of now, Day is still recovering in the hospital.
