46-Year-Old Male Fatally Struck in Kennewick Pedestrian Accident
KENNEWICK, WA, (March 10, 2020) – Late Sunday morning, a 46-year-old male Tri-City resident identified as Jeremie Mills, was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 395.
Authorities received a call about a semi-truck and pedestrian collision around 11:36 a.m. Both WSP and the Kennewick Police Department arrived to the scene shortly after.
According to the Washington State Patrol, an 18-wheeler semi-trailer struck and killed Mills while he was walking southbound on Highway 395, near Plaza Way.
Mills succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of the impact. Authorities were required to shut down both southbound lanes of Highway 395 for less than an hour. They later reopened one southbound lane around 12:30 p.m.
The Washington State Patrol identified the uninjured truck driver as Eric Questad. They are still investigating the accident to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
No further information has been released at this time.
