2 People Detained in Spokane Injury Collision on 1st Avenue
SPOKANE, WA (April 12, 2020) – Sunday evening, 50-year-old Jennifer Petrik and 53-year-old Kenen Pierce were arrested after a DUI collision on 1st Avenue.
According to witnesses, Petrik drove eastbound through a red light in her Jeep, and caused a collision shortly before 8:00 p.m. In addition, she was driving around 90 miles per hour.
When authorities evaluated her, she showed signs of impairment. Thus, authorities arrested her for DUI. Additionally, she was later taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the occupants from the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and were also taken to a local hospital.
Shortly after, Pierce responded to move one of the vehicles from the crash scene using his tow-truck. However, an officer noticed that there was a strong odor of marijuana from inside the tow-truck.
In addition, the tow-truck had several mechanical issues and crashed into a patrol vehicle, which left minor damage to both vehicles.
Moreover, a drug recognition expert confirmed that Pierce showed several signs of impairment. The authorities then arrested Kenen Pierce for DUI. No further information has been released at this time.
