Boat Falls From Trailer and Hits Automobile in Jamul Crash on Honey Springs Road

 
JAMUL, CA (February 9, 2022) – Saturday night, 49-year-old Jennifer Nichols of Bonita died in an accident on Honey Springs Road.
 
According to reports, the incident happened before 6:30 p.m. Reports said that the boat trailer became disconnected from the rear of a 2000 Mazda B300 pickup truck. Then, the boat came loose, fell across the road, and collided with Jennifer Nichols’ 2016 Fiat 500, east on State Route 94.
 
As a result, Jennifer Nichols died at Sharp Memorial Hospital three hours after the incident. Meanwhile, her husband, Kirk Nichols, the Interim Chief of the San Diego Harbor Police Department, suffered minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver, Robert Keith Thomas of Jamestown, suffered no injuries. Then, authorities detained Thomas on accusations of gross negligence vehicular manslaughter.
