Car Accident on Foxen Canyon Road Kills 43-Year-Old Motorcyclist Jeffrey Marez
Santa Maria, CA (June 20, 2020)– A tragic collision on Foxen Canyon Road left motorcyclist Jeffrey Marez dead on Thursday evening.
The fatal collision was reported to have occurred on June 18 near the intersection with Depot Street, in the Sisquoc area.
CHP reported that Mr. Marez was traveling southbound at about 6:15 p.m., near Orcutt Garey Road.
According to the report, the man had difficulty staying on his lane while in a sweeping right curve.
As a result, the motorcyclist crossed over the double yellow lines, and into the path of an oncoming car. The driver was unable to swerve away from the motorcyclist.
Thus, the two motorists collided head-on, said the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Indeed, Jeffrey Garey was pronounced dead at the scene. Furthermore, the three occupants of the car sustained minor injuries.
Firefighters were later able to put out the fire caught by the motorcycle with a fire extinguisher.
Moreover, the deceased motorcyclist’s name was released Monday, the 22nd of June.
