NTSB Investigates Deadly Vehicle Crash in San Antonio
San Antonio, TX (March 16, 2024) – 56-year-old Jeffrey Johnson of Austin was killed following an Interstate 10 collision Saturday night.
The fatal collision happened at 9:50 p.m. near Foster Road.
Investigators said an electric-powered Ford Mustang Mach-E sport utility vehicle was eastbound when it crashed into a Honda CRV.
According to the Mustang driver, the CRV was stopped in the middle lane with no lights on when the accident happened.
Rescuers rushed Johnson, the CRV driver, to a hospital where he died.
The Mustang driver from Houston was not seriously injured in the collision.
The Mustang Mach-E can be operated hands-free. The vehicle can control steering, braking, and lane positioning, though driver supervision is still needed.
NTSB is investigating this collision.
