Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Pacific Coast Highway at Magnolia Street
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (January 2, 2020) – A man died in a pedestrian crash late Thursday evening in Huntington Beach, police said.
The crash happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway, just north of Magnolia Street.
CHP officials responded to the scene and found a male pedestrian lying on the side of the road, unresponsive. They tried CPR until paramedics arrived, but the man died at the scene.
The coroner’s office identified the man Friday as 30-year-old Jeffrey Emerson.
Officials found a 2019 Dodge Durango with front-end damage parked on a nearby street. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
