Afternoon Motorcycle Collision at Brimhall Road and Calloway Drive Ends in Fatality
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 16, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision Sunday afternoon at an intersection in Bakersfield.
The fatal crash happened just before 2:00 p.m. at Brimhall Road and Calloway Drive.
Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but emergency crews responded to the scene and attempted life-saving aid to the rider. Sadly, the rider did not survive and was declared dead.
The Kern County coroner identified the victim as a 64-year-old Jeffrey Frank Chapin of Bakersfield.
It is unknown if speed, alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
