57-Year-Old Desert Springs Woman Fatally Injured in Accident just South of Interstate 10
PALM SPRINGS, CA (April 9, 2018) – On Monday evening around 7 PM, a two-car crash on Gene Autry Trail just south of the eastbound I-10 off-ramp, left one dead and one injured.
According to reports, a white pickup truck and a white Toyota Prius were involved in the collision. A 57-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Desert Regional Medical Center. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 7:35 PM. The second driver sustained minor injuries.
The deceased victim was identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office on Tuesday morning as Jeannine Hill of Desert Springs.
Gene Autry was shut down overnight between Via Escuela and the I-10 entrance, while officials investigated the scene. They reopened around 5 AM the next morning. The Palm Springs Police Department continues to investigate the fatal collision. Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors in the incident.
