1 Dead in San Diego Auto Accident on South Grade Road and State Route 76
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 2, 2023) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested 20-year-old Jean Ramirez of Escondido after a fatal DUI crash on South Grade Road.
The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on South Grade Road, just north of State Route 76.
According to reports, Ramirez drove a black Subaru in the southbound lane of South Grade Road. Then, he veered off the road and went down a steep hill before overturning and crashing into a tree.
As a result, the female passenger succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Then, the authorities arrested the driver on felony DUI and homicide-related charges.
Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information about the incident or who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Oceanside Area CHP at 760-643-3400.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
