21-Year-Old San Marcos Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision near Cannon Road
CARLSBAD, CA (October 14, 2018) – A man was killed Sunday afternoon following a motorcycle crash on Carlsbad Boulevard. The deceased victim was later identified as 21-year-old Jean Jacques Zepeda, a resident of San Marcos.
According to the Carlsbad Police Department, the incident took place at about 4:35 PM near Cannon Road. The motorcyclist was riding along the 4600 block of Carlsbad when he collided with a southbound Toyota Tundra.
Zepeda suffered major injuries and was rushed to the Tri-City Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, the victim died shortly before arriving at the hospital. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Corporal Travis Anderson at (760) 931-2208. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
