10-Year-Old Child Dies after Crash on 23rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ (February 7, 2023) – Tuesday morning, 10-Year-Old Jayveon Grant died in a crash on 23rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
The fatal pedestrian crash in Phoenix happened around 8 a.m. on February 7.
Phoenix Police said a pickup truck pulling a trailer was stopped at a stop sign getting ready to make a right turn.
The boy and an adult family member were walking nearby when the adult walked between the pickup and the trailer.
When the truck began to move to make a right turn and the trailer struck the boy.
EMS rushed the boy to a hospital, but he later died. The adult did not suffer any injuries.
Officials said the driver involved stayed at the scene and impairment is not believed to be a factor.
Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
