Marcos Torres Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash on North 5th Street
CHOWCHILLA, CA (November 8, 2019) – Authorities identified 15-year-old Jaycee Willet as the girl killed in a DUI crash on North 5th Street, Friday evening.
According to the Chowchilla Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:40 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a Chevy truck hit a Suzuki Forenza near Ventura Avenue.
Jaycee, a passenger in the Suzuki, sustained life-threatening injuries and later died at the scene. Four other passengers, including Jaycee’s boyfriend, suffered moderate to severe injuries. Updates on their current conditions remain undisclosed.
Officers determined that the Chevy driver, identified as 24-year-old Marcos Torres, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was booked into Madera County Department of Corrections on charges of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
