Jay Floris Dies in Pacific Avenue Hit-and-Run Crash [Stockton, CA]

Stockton, CA (October 26, 2024) – 23-year-old Jay Floris of Salinas was killed in a Pacific Avenue hit-and-run crash Thursday evening.

The authorities responded at about 6:30 p.m. to the traffic crash on West Yokuts Avenue.

Officers said the victim was struck near the sidewalk area near the Delta College marquee sign and the involved driver fled the scene.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed Jay Floris to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Delta Police Department officers later located the suspect vehicle nearby and arrested the suspect, 27-year-old Jamaraqui Banks. They also took him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The hospital cleared Banks and he was then booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
