1 Person Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Chateau Road

 
MAMMOTH LAKES, CA (February 1, 2022) – Friday morning, authorities arrested Jaxson Aubert after a hit-and-run crash on Chateau Road.
 
The incident occurred at around 2:05 a.m. near the 3000 block of Chateau Road.
 
According to reports, 19-year-old Jaxson Aubert of El Segundo struck a pedestrian. Then, he fled on foot.
 
As the authorities investigated, they took Jaxson Aubert into custody. He’s charged with felony hit and run causing great bodily injury, and driving under the influence of alcohol causing great bodily injury.
 
Also, authorities held him at the Mono County Jail on a $130,000 bond.
 
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old male victim from Uruguay went to Mammoth Hospital. Then, responders airlifted him to Renown Hospital in Reno in critical condition in the ICU.
 
The Mammoth Lakes Police Department, Mono County District Attorney’s Office, and the California Highway Patrol investigate the crash.
 
Also, they urged anyone with information about the incident to call the Mammoth Lakes Police Department at 760-965-3700.
 
Furthermore, the victim’s workplace started a Go Fund Me account to aid him with medical bills and recovery.
