Phoenix, AZ (April 21, 2023) – Thursday night, 24-year-old Jason Macedo Santana died and one other sustained injuries in a crash on 18th Street and Northern Avenue. 

The fatal crash on 18th Street and Northern Avenue in Phoenix happened around 10:30 p.m. on April 20.

Phoenix Police said the collision involved two cars reportedly a result of a possible street race.

Santana and a man were traveling eastbound on Northern Avenue when they collided, went off road and rolled over on the south side. 

Moreover, a video from the scene showed two cars had rolled over, with one completely flipped upside down with burn damage throughout the vehicle.

EMS rushed the two men to a hospital where Santana later died. The other man was treated for minor injuries and then released.

Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
