Jason Luker and 2 Others Injured in 9-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 [Buttonwillow, CA]

Injuries Reported in Buttonwillow Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 5 and Twisselman Road

 
BUTTONWILLOW, CA (November 3, 2022) – Saturday morning, Jason Luker and two others suffered injuries in a 9-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
 
The incident happened at 11:20 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5, south of Twisselman Road.
 
According to reports, 20-year-old Akashdeep Singh of Santa Rosa drove a 2023 Freightliner at a high rate of speed. Meanwhile, traffic stalled northbound I-5 in the first and second fast lanes due to a previous crash.
 
Then, Singh crashed the front of his semi-truck into the rear of two other semi-trucks and a 2017 Forrest River. Afterward, the force of the crash forced the Forest River into the rear of a 2022 Jeep and a 2011 Hyundai. Then, the Hyundai was pushed into multiple other vehicles.
 
After the crash, responders took the occupant of the Forest River, 52-year-old Jason Luker of Skykomish, WA to Kern Medical. Meanwhile, Jeep driver, Zack Gates of Danville, CA was taken to Mercy southwest.
 
Also, the Hyundai driver, 61-year-old K. Escalante of El Cajon, CA refused further medical attention. All of them suffered minor injuries in the crash.
 
Moreover, the incident closed northbound Interstate 5 between 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
 
Furthermore, the authorities do not believe that drugs and alcohol didn’t play a role in the crash.
