Santa Barbara Man Seriously Hurt after Crash near Highway 154
SANTA BARBARA, CA (July 10, 2019) – Authorities identified 76-year-old Jason Laskay of Santa Barbara as the man critically injured in an accident near Highway 154.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly before 1:00 PM. For unknown reasons, an eastbound minivan veered off the road and crashed over the side of West Camino Cielo. The van went approximately 200 feet down an embankment, ejecting Laskay from the vehicle.
An AMR ambulance transported Laskay to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries. Authorities did not provide updates on the victim’s current condition.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. Witnesses are encouraged to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
