Injuries Reported in Leavenworth Auto Accident on US Highway 2 near Peshastin
LEAVENWORTH, WA (January 15, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, Jason Kovachuk and Daniel Mikrik sustained injuries in a crippling traffic crash on US Highway 2 near Peshastin.
The incident happened on US Highway 2, between Peshastin and Leavenworth.
According to reports, an eastbound 2019 Volkswagen Golf lost control, veered across the center median, and collided with a westbound 2013 Jeep Wrangler.
Moreover, responders transported five occupants of Golf, including 19-year-old Kovachuk and 19-year-old Mikrik, to Confluence Health Hospital Center Campus with unknown injuries. Also, the driver of the Jeep, 39-year-old Aaron Jacobs, was not hurt in the incident.
Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the Golf, a 16-year-old boy, for vehicular assault related to reckless driving.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
