Big Rig Driver Injured in I-10 Collision
Cabazon, CA (April 20, 2022) – On Tuesday, Jason Cavanagh, 38, of Newbury Park, lost his life in a big rig crash on Interstate 10.
Officers responded to the crash scene at around 2:00 a.m., east of the Main Street interchange near the Cabazon dinosaur display, wherein another vehicle was also involved.
When they arrived, the officers located the semi-truck on its side with debris scattered on all traffic lanes.
Unfortunately, the authorities confirmed Cavanagh died in the collision.
On the other hand, the big rig driver was intubated with severe burn damage. Medics transferred the driver to the burn unit at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Witnesses said the semi-truck struck another vehicle that was already on its side.
Meanwhile, the authorities detoured traffic off the freeway at Main Street and onto a frontage road.
Officers are investigating this fatal crash.
