Jason Casey of Delhi Dies in Motorcycle Crash on North Avenue [Delhi, CA]

Fiery Delhi Motorcycle Crash Kills Jason Casey, Injures Albano Silveira

 
Delhi, CA (April 21, 2021) – On Monday, 42-year-old Jason Casey of Delhi died while 42-year-old Albano Silveira of Stevinson was injured in a motorcycle crash on North Avenue.
 
Officers responded to the crash scene at about 4:15 p.m. at the Cortez Avenue intersection, wherein a motorcycle and a vehicle pulling a trailer were involved.
 
Officers said that it appears Casey was northbound in a 2008 Honda CBR1000 on Cortez Avenue approaching the intersection with North Avenue at an unknown speed.
 
Then, the motorcycle crashed with the passenger side of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe towing a trailer driven by Silveira, which attempted to turn left onto North Avenue.
 
Casey was thrown from the motorcycle before it came to rest between the Chevrolet and the trailer. Both vehicles immediately caught fire due to the impact of the crash.
 
Right away, fire personnel responded to the accident scene to extinguish the flames.
 
Unfortunately, Casey succumbed to his injuries, and officers pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Moreover, Silveira told the officers he saw the motorcycle in the distance and believed he had enough time to make the turn.
 
Silveira stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. He declined medical transport for minor injuries he sustained in the accident.
 
Meanwhile, authorities do not consider drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the fatal accident.
