38-Year-Old Navy Veteran Fatally Injured in Multi-Car Crash near Federal Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 30, 2018) – A man was killed early Saturday morning when his motorcycle struck a suspected drunk driver on State Route 94 near Federal Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident started when a woman crashed her blue Honda Civic into the center divider around 3:20 AM. Two Good Samaritans pulled over to assist the injured driver when a motorcycle, driven by 38-year-old Jason Bullock, hit the disabled Honda and two other vehicles.
Bullock suffered severe head trauma and other unspecified injuries after he was thrown onto the roadway. Emergency personnel rushed the motorcyclist to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead.
A GoFundMe page was created to assist Bullock’s family with ongoing expenses. Click on the link to donate and to support the campaign.
The Honda driver was also hospitalized after sustaining a severe leg injury. Investigators are working to determine whether she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. She might face a vehicular manslaughter charge upon release from the hospital.
No further information has been disclosed to the public at this time.
