Jasnael Singh Hayer Arrested after Brutal Hit-and-Run Crash on S 9th Street [Modesto, CA]

1 Dead in Modesto Pedestrian Accident on S 9th Street and Hatch Road

MODESTO, CA (November 25, 2024) – Saturday night, authorities arrested Jasnael Singh Hayer after a hit-and-run crash on S 9th Street.

The incident happened at around 9:10 p.m. on South Ninth Street in south Modesto, the California Highway Patrol reported. 

CHP officers responded to reports of a pedestrian found dead on South Ninth Street north of Hatch Road, showing “obvious signs of death.”

Officers spotted the suspected driver, identified as 22-year-old Hayer of Modesto, fleeing the scene onto southbound Highway 99. The vehicle was pulled over, and it was determined to have struck the pedestrian. Hayer was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter.

Southbound Highway 99 was closed during the investigation. No identifying information about the victim was available as of Sunday.
