2 Hospitalized in Houston Auto Accident on Interstate 610 near Telephone Road

HOUSTON, TX (July 18, 2023) – On Wednesday, Jasmine Martinez and Julie Martinez sustained injuries in an alarming hit-and-run crash on Interstate 610.

The incident happened on Interstate 610 near Telephone Road and Woodridge Drive.

According to reports, an unidentified pickup truck rear-ended a vehicle and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. Then, the force of the crash pushed the victim’s vehicle to lose control and struck multiple trees.

Moreover, responders rushed two victims, 21-year-old Martinez and her 4-year-old niece, Julie, to a hospital for treatment. Officers confirmed that Martinez sustained three broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and internal bleeding. Meanwhile, Julie suffered multiple bruises and stitches in her eye.

At this time, the circumstances involved in the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
