1 Dead in Irwindale Auto Accident on 605 Freeway
IRWINDALE, CA (July 6, 2020) – Sunday night, a 19-year-old woman named Jasmine Gomez died in a wrong-way crash on the 605 Freeway in Irwindale.
According to reports, the Baldwin Park woman drove a 2003 silver Nissan sedan in the wrong direction on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Irwindale.
She was traveling north in the southbound lanes at 10:48 p.m. when she collided head-on into a FedEx big rig just north of Ramona Boulevard.
Consequently, Ms. Gomez sustained fatal injuries. Moreover, her Nissan was wedged under the big rig.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old male driver of the 2014 Freightliner complained of pain and looked for his own medical assistance. Furthermore, the Nissan driver from Baldwin Park succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Due to the crash, the CHP administered a SigAlert at 11:08 p.m. for all southbound lanes. Moreover, they also set alternate routes of traffic at Lower Azusa Road. However, at 3:55 a.m., the lanes reopened.
Meanwhile, the CHP’s Baldwin Park office encourages anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at 626-338-1164.

After a Tragic Accident
Those closest to the victim may have the right to seek compensation for their loss. Some common examples include funeral expenses, medical bills, and what is called “loss of consortium.” Loss of consortium generally means the deprivation of future affection and companionship over an untimely death.
