Jared Martineau of Lakeside Killed in Interstate 8 Collision [Flinn Springs, CA]

Flinn Springs, CA (May 19, 2023) – Just before 5 p.m. on May 2, 29-year-old Jared Martineau of Lakeside sustained fatal injuries in an Interstate 8 collision.

Martineau was eastbound when his Ford pickup collided with another vehicle. The impact of the collision made his vehicle to overturn and rolled side-over-side multiple times before it rested on the westbound side of the freeway.

He was thrown from his truck and sustained extensive blunt- force trauma to his head and upper body.

Immediately, the paramedics rushed Martineau to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead late last Thursday evening, nine days after the collision.

Officers are investigating.
