2 People Killed in Tragic DUI Accident on Wildaire Road SW
Lakewood, W (July 17, 2023) On Thursday evening, police arrested 22-year-old Jaquan Price after a suspected DUI crash on Gravelly Lake Drive.
According to the Lakewood Police Department (LPD), the tragic DUI accident happened at about 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Gravelly Lake Dr SW and Wildaire Road SW.
Reports say that Price was driving a blue Toyota RAV4 that collided with a silver Chevy Cavalier. an occupant of the Toyota, identified as B. Eppling was found on the ground outside the Toyota, officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevy, identified as M. Jennings, was also pronounced dead at the scene, while a rear passenger suffered serious injuries and was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Officials say that the Toyota was racing a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by E. Fernando, according to witnesses, the Toyota was exhibiting aggressive driving behavior, speeding and swerving dangerously. Consequently, this behavior led to a fatal collision.
Authorities say that the crash was caused by the Dodge cutting the Chevy off, prompting Jaquan Price to chase the Dodge.
Police arrested Price and it was revealed that he had consumed alcohol before the crash, officials also confirmed that Price did not possess a valid driver’s license and is a convicted felon.
Lakewood PD obtained a warrant for a blood sample from Price, and toxicology results are pending. Officials say that Price is facing serious charges related to the collision including two counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of vehicular assault-DUI, and one count of 2nd-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
