Police Investigate a Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on 32nd Street in Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ (August 4, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, Janice Ungerer died and the other two sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of 32nd Street and Utopia Road.
The fatal crash in Phoenix happened at around 1:45 p.m. on August 4.
Reportedly, a man driving a gray sedan eastbound on Utopia Road failed to stop for a red light at 32nd Street and hit a red sedan, and then both vehicles hit an SUV.
Dispatched officers arrived and found a three-vehicle crash with one person requiring extrication.
Authorities declared Ungerer, the driver of the red sedan dead on the scene.
EMS then transported two patients to the hospital. The man who ran the red light with serious injuries, while a woman driving the SUV with minor injuries.
Further investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
