Police Search for Suspect after Crash on Manchester Boulevard in Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA (November 17, 2023) – On Thursday night, 63-year-old Jamilah Leah De Roux died in a hit-and-run crash on Manchester Boulevard.
The Los Angeles Police Department dispatched officers to Manchester Boulevard and Cimarron Street around 10:35 p.m. on Thursday.
According to an LAPD statement, a 63-year-old woman who was crossing the street at the intersection of Cimarron Street was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Manchester Boulevard.
The driver of the vehicle fled eastbound on Manchester Boulevard without stopping, identifying themselves, or providing aid.
Jamilah Leah De Roux, a resident of Long Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The hit-and-run vehicle remains without a description.
The city of Los Angeles is offering a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the resolution of a fatal hit-and-run.
