Jamie Gatewood Dead in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident in Parking Lot
LONG BEACH, CA (June 1, 2021) – Monday morning, Jamie Gatewood, who was lying in a parking lot, died after being run over in an accident on 2500 Long Beach Boulevard.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, a 27-year-old Los Angeles man drove a 2010 Scion XB through a business parking lot. The incident transpired in the 2500 block of Long Beach Boulevard. Then, he hit the woman lying on the ground.
The officers responded to the scene at around 10:42 a.m. Afterward, the paramedics followed to help the 39-year-old female victim. However, she died of her injuries.
Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle driving through the lot struck the woman as she lied underneath a pile of blankets in a parking stall.
After the crash, the unidentified driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with investigators.
