1 Person Dead in Glenn County Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 near County Road 39
GLENN COUNTY, CA (July 31, 2024) – Monday night, Jamey Phillips and two other drivers were involved in a tragic pedestrian crash on Interstate 5.
The incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 5 southbound, south of County Road 39.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound Volkswagen struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the freeway. Then, a Honda and a Peterbilt struck the pedestrian who was already down on the pavement.
Moreover, officers identified the Volkswagen driver as 28-year-old Phillips, the Honda driver as Vignesh Pandiarajan, and the Peterbilt driver as Maricela Sanchez.
Furthermore, authorities do not suspect the drivers of DUI.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
