James Steele Jr. and Miriam Palomares Fatally Injured in Parlier Head-on Crash
PARLIER, CA (March 12, 2019) – A man and a woman died following a two-vehicle collision near Parlier on Monday, March 11.
Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased drivers Tuesday as Miriam Hernandez Palomares, 28, and James Steele Jr., 57.
According to CHP spokesman Victor Taylor, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Mendocino Avenue about a mile and a half south of Manning Avenue.
Steele Jr. was traveling north on Mendocino in a Dodge 3500 when he crossed the road’s double-yellow lines for unknown reasons. Then he crashed with a southbound Dodge Caravan driven by Palomares. Both drivers were traveling alone. Officers believed that both have died on impact, Taylor stated.
It’s not yet determined if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the collision, Taylor said.
