Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Indian School Road in Buckeye

Buckeye, AZ (July 26, 2023) – Wednesday morning, 72-year-old James Runge died in a crash on Indian School Road and Jackrabbit Trail. 

The fatal crash on Indian School Road happened at about 9:45 a.m. on July 26.

Reportedly, Runge walking across a parking lot outside the Fry’s store when struck by a commercial vehicle.

According to Buckeye police, several bystanders tried to help the injured man before officers arrived and began resuscitating him. Runge was taken to the hospital and later died.

The vehicle’s driver remained on the scene, and impairment does not appear relevant.

Authorities did not disclose which company owns and operates the vehicle. 

Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
