John Galligher, James Park, and Thomas Campbell Involved in Multi-Vehicle Crash near Highway 108, Tourists Injured
TUOLUMNE, CA (December 7, 2018) – Early Friday morning, a total of ten people were injured in a 3-car collision on Green Springs Road. Seven of those involved, were tourists from Korea.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 8:00 AM, on the intersection of Green Springs Road and Highway 108. CHP reported that 51-year-old John Galligher of Modesto was driving a GMC truck when he turned from Green Springs Rd onto the highway.
There, he struck a Toyota van that was carrying the tourists, driven by 70-year-old James Park.
After the initial collision, a third vehicle was involved, a Peterbilt truck driven by Thomas Campbell. Everyone involved was transported to Adventist Health Sonora Medical Center, except Galligher. No current information of their medical conditions has been released.
Highways were briefly closed due to the collision. Traffic was redirected around the shoulders as first responders cleared the wreckage. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
