Man Killed in Chewelah Traffic Accident on Highway 395

 
CHEWELAH, WA (November 9, 2022) – Tuesday morning, James Palumbo and May Lindal sustained injuries in a fatal crash on Highway 395.
 
The incident happened at around 10:00 a.m. on Highway 395.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck lost control on a curb for still unknown reasons. Then, it veered across the center line and collided with a northbound 2020 Nissan. Afterward, the force of the crash ejected the male driver of the truck and his passenger, 46-year-old May Lindal, into the roadway.
 
Moreover, officers confirmed that the driver of the truck, a 52-year-old Western Washington, died at the scene. Then, paramedics transported Lindal to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment. Also, responders transported the Nissan driver, 63-year-old James Palumbo, of Rathdrum, Idaho. They took him to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center with unknown injuries.
 
Furthermore, the incident blocked both lanes of the highway but has long since reopened.
 
Meanwhile, the fatal crash remained under investigation.
