Rosamond Man Dies in 5-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 126 near Hopper Canyon Road
FILLMORE, CA (November 20, 2018) – A man was killed following a multi-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on Highway 126 in Fillmore.
The fatal collision happened around 4:35 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway near Hopper Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, five vehicles including a white work truck and a red sedan were involved. Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but responding fire crews reported one person dead. Another was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in Valencia and two patients declined to be taken to a hospital.
The deceased has been identified by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office as James King, 62, of Rosamond.
Traffic in the area was closed for hours while CHP officials worked on the scene. All lanes were re-opened roughly around 10:00 p.m.
The full circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
