Street Racing Leads to Accident Near Lemon Avenue
EL CAJON, CA (October 27, 2019) – James Jones suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Chase Avenue on early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 2:30 AM near the intersection of Lemon Avenue.
Based on a report, Jones was in the vehicle of his fiancee, Samantha Rezendez, when a silver 2000 Mercedes Benz struck them. The car was forced her across all lanes of traffic before slamming into a barrier wall of a home. Rezendez said the other driver appeared to be racing. After the collision, she said the other driver jumped into the other racer’s vehicle to flee the scene.

The license plate on the Mercedes appeared to be European. The CHP seeks any information from the public about the suspect vehicle and driver.
