Officer Hurt in San Rafael Car Accident at Santa Rosa Yacht Club
SAN RAFAEL, CA (December 21, 2022) – Monday, authorities arrested James Henry Flournoy following a crash at Santa Rosa Yacht Club.
According to reports, authorities arrested Flournoy in connection with an incident that happened on December 8.
Reports said that 44-year-old James Henry Flournoy rammed a police vehicle with his car, causing injury to an officer.
Officers found the suspect in a stolen vehicle at the Santa Rosa Yacht Club at 10:15 p.m.
Then, an officer attempted to stop the vehicle. However, James Henry Flournoy drove in reverse and hit the officer and the police car, pinning the officer.
Afterward, the suspect struck another car in his path.
Then, Flournoy went to the back of the parking lot, made a U-turn, and headed back toward the officers.
As a result, the injured officer limped away in an attempt to escape Flournoy. Then, two other officers stood between the officer and the car and pointed their guns at Flournoy.
Flournoy briefly stopped but he put his car in reverse and fled through the back parking lot.
After obtaining a surveillance video of the incident, detectives secured a warrant for his arrest.
“It appeared that Flournoy had been on a multi-jurisdictional crime spree over several weeks,” SRPD added.
Then, San Pablo police arrested Flournoy. Afterward, they booked him into Contra Costa County Jail. He’s currently facing extradition to Marin County and charges of assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer, obstructing an officer, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
