1 Dead and 2 Hurt in Shafter Car Crash
SHAFTER, CA (February 24, 2020) – A 6-year-old child later identified as Jaden Jimenez was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Tulare Avenue.
According to reports, three occupants were inside an unidentified vehicle that veered off the road for unknown reasons. Dispatchers located the vehicle in the 30000 block of West Tulare Avenue, just east of Poplar Avenue around 3:37 p.m.
Jimenez was airlifted to a local hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries. However, the Kern County Sheriff’s Officer confirmed that Jimenez succumbed to injuries on February 21 at 4:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, two others sustained moderate injuries. Officers have not yet released their identities at this time.
The details leading up to the collision are currently unclear. However, authorities are still investigating the cause.
Furthermore, the police also shut down Tulare Avenue between Poplar Avenue and Ryan Drive for multiple hours during the investigation. However, the roadway has since reopened.
