Jacob Fuerte Dead in Tragic Vehicle Crash on 101 Freeway and Vineland Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]

1 Person Killed in Los Angeles Auto Accident on 101 Freeway and Vineland Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 16, 2024) – Monday morning, Jacob Fuerte died in a tragic vehicle crash on 101 Freeway and Vineland Avenue.

The incident happened at around 5:14 a.m. on the northbound 101 Freeway at Vineland Avenue.

According to LAFD Capt. Erik Scott, the recruit firefighters were involved in a crash. Then, a vehicle struck the recruit firefighter who exited his vehicle to render aid to anyone involved who may have been injured.

Moreover, responders pronounced the recruit firefighter, identified as 22-year-old Fuerte, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities confirmed that Fuerte was in week 10 of a 20-week training program to become a firefighter.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the California Highway Patrol continued to investigate the crash.
