17-Year-Old and 16-Year-Old Killed in Solo-Vehicle Collision near Bullard Avenue
CLOVIS, CA (February 7, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that 17-year-old Jack Schwass and 16-year-old Thomas Brown were killed in a crash on Armstrong Avenue on Friday.
Authorities responded to the solo-vehicle collision near Bullard Avenue, just before midnight. Clovis Fire Department officials say the unidentified car drove into a tree near the intersection. However, no other vehicle was involved.
The two teenagers were found pinned inside the badly damaged vehicle upon medics arrival. Both victims were pronounced dead on scene, due to the extent of injuries sustained.
Schwass was a student at Gateway High School, and Brown attended Clovis High School. They will be deeply missed by their community.
In addition, it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The surrounding area on Armstrong Avenue was closed during for preliminary duties. However, is investigation remains ongoing at this time.
