Jose Alonso Gutierrez and Bailey Martin Sanchez Arrested after Running Over Modesto Man on D Street

 
TURLOCK CA, (April 15, 2018) – A man was fatally injured after he was intentionally run over on S First Street, early Sunday morning.
 
The victim was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s oFfice as 56-year-old Jack Keener, a Modesto resident.
 
The police department received a call shortly before 1:30 AM reporting that there was a man down in the middle of the road at the intersection of S First Steet and D Street and was possibly dead. Officers found the man alive and critically injured. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
 
Detectives determined through the investigation that the victim was intentionally run over by two suspects: 18-year-old Jose Alonso Gutierrez and 19-year-old Bailey Martin Sanchez. Gutierrez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on a charge of murder; assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and likely to result in great bodily injury; and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. His bail has been set at $2.09 million. Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for being an accessory to murder and carjacking. His bail has been set at $2.04 million.
