Passenger and Driver Dead in Late Evening Crash on Kendall Drive
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (February 2, 2020) – A passenger and a driver were killed in a car accident late Sunday evening in San Bernardino.
The crash happened around 11:29 p.m. on Kendall Drive, just south of H Street.
According to police, an Acura TL was traveling southbound on Kendall Drive when it crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into an oncoming white Chevrolet pickup truck.
As a result, the passenger of the Acura, 17-year-old Izack Pacheo of Fontana, died at the scene. The driver, 20-year-old Phillip Sanchez, later died at the hospital.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 22-year-old San Bernardino woman, was unharmed. She was released from the scene.
At this time, authorities did not rule out speed and intoxication as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
